Now, a word from a sponsor....
Want a Siberian Husky? We are some of the most beautiful and interesting dogs in the world. We are cute, furry, and have character. However, that is NOT a reason to get one. Owning a Siberian is a lifestyle, and a challenging one at that. We are not for someone who has never owned a dog before. We require space, excercise, and attention. We are predisposed to certain eye and hip problems. We can get to be large and heavy, and shed heavily twice a year (invest in lint brushes, vaccum cleaners, and brooms, and get used to breathing fur). We are not good guard-dogs, as we are loving and affectionate. We love, no make that, need to run. It is what we've been bred for. However, we are not a dog to be allowed off-leash becaise we want to roam free and wide, and no matter how well trained and obedient we may be, the call of the wild and instinct will override any training. Let your dog loose off lead, any you may never see it again. Speaking of instincts, there is that annoying one that makes us want to dig, in the yard, in the house, in your bed !!!! We also like to howl, especially when the local fire engine/ambulance is roaring by with the sirens. Be prepared for a seranade. Did I mention, that we are not always the most obedient dogs...that is because of our breeding...we are quite independent minded pooches. Oh yeah, we like to run alot, did I mention that?
